Democratic Poll Shows Corzine Close

Though most recent polls show a much wider gap, a new Democracy Corps (D) poll in New Jersey finds Gov. Jon Corzine (D) within striking distance of challenger Chris Christie (R).

Christie leads Corzine 40% to 35% with independent candidate Chris Daggett attracting 10% of the vote. In a two-way trial heat, Christie leads Corzine 43% to 37%.

Analysis: "As voters learn more about Christie, his negative ratings appear to be rising. His negative ratings are now as high as his positives -- 32% view him favorably, 31% unfavorably."
