Bauer Gives Sanford a Deadline

South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer (R) said that his offer to forgo a run for governor if Gov. Mark Sanford resigns is only good through next month, the Greenville News reports.

Said Bauer: "I'll probably announce in the latter part of October, and until I announce, I said I'll just take myself out the running if he'll step down. But I have to start my campaign at some point."
