McDonnell Pulls Away in Virginia

A new Public Policy Polling survey in Virginia finds Bob McDonnell (R) has again expanded his lead over Creigh Deeds (D) and now leads by 15 points, 55% to 40%.

Last week, McDonnell led by 12 points.

Key finding: "There is some indication in the recent polls that Democratic voters are giving up on this race. At the beginning of September 38% of likely voters were Democrats. By the end of the month it was 37%, a week ago it was down to 33% and now it's at just 31%. That trend has major implications for the party's candidates further down the ballot."
