The Results So Far

Republicans won two governorships, in Virginia and New Jersey. The latter is an especially big win for the GOP.

Democrats won two House seats, in CA-10 and NY-23. Assuming Democrats are still on top in NY-23 after absentee ballots are counted, it's also a very big victory.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg won re-election, but by a much smaller margin than expected. That might be one of the big surprises of the night.

We're still waiting for the very close ballot measure on gay marriage in Maine.

So, what's the storyline for the morning news?
