First Read reports that while White House aides worry that President Obama's extensive foreign travel hurts his approval numbers at home, "it's not the worst thing that Obama is going to be thousands of miles and more than a dozen time zones away over the next week."

While the president effectively parachuted in over the weekend to help pass the House bill, note that involvement came at the end of the process -- not the middle, where the Senate currently is.
