Ritter Retirement Helps Democrats in Colorado

A new Rasmussen poll in Colorado finds that Gov. Bill Ritter's (D) sudden exit from the gubernatorial race actually helps Democrats.

Scott McInnis (R) still leads two potential Democratic rivals, but by smaller margins than he held over Ritter.

McInnis leads Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper (D), 45% to 42%, and tops Interior Secretary Ken Salazar (D), 47% to 41%.

Update: The Fix reports that Salazar will not run for governor and will back Hickenlooper instead.
