After being lobbied by President Obama earlier this week, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) will announce his position on health care reform this morning at a 10 a.m. press conference on Capitol Hill.
New York Times: "Conventional wisdom suggests that Mr. Kucinich would not draw so much
attention to himself simply to say that he remains opposed to the bill. But Mr. Kucinich is not a conventional politician, and Democratic
leaders are unlikely to count him in the 'yes' column until he says so
out loud."
According to Jonathan Chait,
Howard Fineman says Kucinich "will vote for
health care reform. Kucinich may be crazy but he's not... well, he is
kind of stupid. Okay, he may be crazy and stupid, but
he's not completely indifferent to the plight of the disadvantaged. So
he's got that going for him."
Update: Kucinich confirms he'll vote in favor of the health care bill.
