Crist Advisers Urge Him to Run as an Independent

As the Wall Street Journal notes some of Florida Gov. Charlie Crist's (R) top advisers are pushing him to abandon his troubled Senate primary campaign and run as an independent, the AP reports Crist is dodging the question.

Crist would have to make the switch by the April 30 filing deadline. Last week, a spokesman closed the door to an independent run but Crist did not do that today.

A new poll out early tomorrow morning will test Crist's chances in the Senate race as both a Republican and an independent.
