Crist Will Not Make Refunds to Donors

Although Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (I) said he would "probably" give refunds to campaign donors upset he left the Republican party, he has reversed course, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

Said a campaign spokesman: "We have never made an official statement before. It is now the official statement. They donated to the Charlie Crist for U.S. Senate Campaign and it's still the Charlie Crist for U.S. Senate Campaign."

Crist formalized his break with the Republican party earlier today by changing his party affiliation to NPA -- no party affiliation.
