Tim Cahill's (I) floundering independent gubernatorial bid in Massachusetts "suffered another huge blow last night when his top strategist quit, saying the independent candidate's slim hopes are only hurting" Charlie Baker's (R) chances, the Boston Herald reports.
The move comes as Cahill's poll numbers have tanked, with some showing him with just five percent of the vote.
Said strategist John Weaver: "We have to deal with reality as it is and not the way it ought to be. I would prefer Tim Cahill be the next governor. That's not going to happen."
