Not Backing Castle Cost Republicans a Senate Seat

Though Christine O'Donnell (R) backers -- most notably Sarah Palin -- insist Rep. Mike Castle (R) could not have beaten Chris Coons (D) in the Delaware U.S. Senate race, Dave Weigel points out that the final exit poll actually "determined that the Delaware electorate would have voted for Castle; 44% called him their choice, to only 42% for Coons."
