Are Independents Warming to More Government?

Charlie Cook notes a finding in the most recent NBC/WSJ poll that a majority of independent voters believe that the government should do more, not less.

The survey found that 47% of independents said the government was doing too much, compared with 60% who said so last October. Independents who said the government should do more jumped 13 points, from 38% to 51%.

"One poll isn't a trend, but the responses to this key question will be worth watching closely."
