Hochul Can't Vote for Herself

There will be no photos of Kathy Hochul (D) emerging from a voting booth in today's special election because she's not eligible to vote.

New York Times: "The problem is this: because she lives in a village just outside the borders of New York's 26th Congressional district, Ms. Hochul cannot vote in her own election. This might seem a bit confusing. But under the law, a person may run to represent a Congressional district even if he or she lives outside that district. The only legal requirement for running is that the candidate be a resident of the state where the district is located."
