Very Busy Agenda for Congress

New York Times: "There are times when it seems to Americans that Congress is doing nothing of substance. This fall is not going to be one of those times."

Just this week: The official convening of a bipartisan Congressional committee charged with finding $1.2 trillion in deficit reductions, President Obama's speech concerning jobs before a joint session on Thursday and a hearing to prevent a postal service shutdown.

Meanwhile, the new Washington Post/ABC News poll finds the public evenly split between President Obama and congressional Republicans, 40% to 40%, on handling the big economic issues.
