Child Custody Ruling Leaked Just Before Election

In the unexpectedly close special election in New York's 9th congressional district, Politico obtained a 25-year old child custody ruling that paints David Weprin (D) in "a searingly negative light."

In the ruling on Weprin's suit for expanded custody, the judge described Weprin as "heedless" of the welfare of his not yet two-year old son and behaving in a manner that "shocks the conscience." The judge also describes him "extremely temperamental with a short fuse" -- a description backed by his "almost impossible to control" in the court-room.

The special election is on Tuesday.
