A new Quinnipiac poll
shows Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R), a potential choice for the
Republican Vice Presidential nomination, with strong job approval
numbers, 61% to 21%. This result is an improvement over McDonnell's
numbers in late June, when his numbers stood at 55% to 26%.
However,
McDonnell is not alone at the top. In fact, Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA)
receives the highest approval of any statewide official, 64% to 22%,
potentially indicating that the state is still very much in play for the
presidential election.
