Perry Leads Another National Poll

A new CBS News/New York Times poll finds Rick Perry leading Mitt Romney in the GOP presidential race, 23% to 16%.

The rest of the field: Newt Gingrich at 7%, Michele Bachmann at 7%, Herman Cain at 5%, Ron Paul at 5%, Jon Huntsman at 1%, Rick Santorum at 1%.

Interesting: "For comparison, at a similar stage in the campaign in 2007, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was the leading choice of Republican primary voters (at 34%), followed by former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson (23%)."
