Invoking Theodore Roosevelt

President Obama will speak in Osawatomie, Kansas later today, which the Washington Post notes is "the same Midwestern town where, 101 years ago, Theodore Roosevelt gave a famous address trumpeting a new progressive agenda."

Like T.R. before him, Obama will argue that every American deserves "a fair shot and a fair shake." But the speech has a secondary goal: to show American voters how much the Republican Party has changed.

First Read: "Is this the re-election message? The Obama campaign does still seem to searching for one, or at least struggling to refine it."
