Romney Leads in Iowa, Santorum Surges

A new CNN/Time poll in Iowa shows Mitt Romney leading the Republican presidential field with 25%, followed by Ron Paul at 22%, Rick Santorum at 16%, Newt Gingrich at 14%, Rick Perry at 11%, Michele Bachmann at 9%, and Jon Huntsman at 1%.

Caveat: The survey only included registered Republicans even though independents can change their registration at the caucus. This may overstate Santorum's support and understate Paul's support.
