Romney Passes Gingrich Nationally

Mitt Romney takes the lead in the Gallup daily tracking poll with 27%, followed by Newt Gingrich at 23% and Ron Paul at 11%.

More important: Romney overall support is pushing above the ceiling that had him stuck in the low 20s for weeks.

Meanwhile, Nate Silver incorporates the latest polls and his model now forecasts a Romney win in Iowa next week.
