Will Rielle Hunter Testify?

The Raleigh News & Observer reports that Rielle Hunter, who met John Edwards in 2006 at the New York Regency Hotel and had an affair with him, "has been offered an immunity agreement by prosecutors. If she testifies, it could be her first full public accounting of what transpired with Edwards after that hotel meeting."

"The trial is expected to last a few more weeks, but time may be running out for Hunter to appear. The government expects to rest its case by the end of the week. It's unlikely the defense would call her, though she appears on the witness list for both sides."

Meanwhile, the Daily Beast reports an Edwards speechwriter testified that the former presidential candidate knew about the payments made to keep Hunter in hiding even though he denied knowledge at the time.
