Tennessee Candidates Engage in Anti-Islam Contest

Rep. Diane Black (R-TN) and primary challenger Lou Ann Zelenik (R) are engaged in an argument "over who is more opposed to the Islamic faith and the construction of a mosque near Nashville has become an unlikely issue in a nasty Tennessee Republican congressional primary to be decided on Thursday," Reuters reports.

"The heart of the struggle is over the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, about 30 miles south of Nashville, which has been controversial since construction began two years ago."

Gawker: "Anyway, what makes the whole thing even dumber, if that's possible, is that this 'I'm more intolerant than you' pissing contest isn't even about Murfreesboro anymore; a 2010 redrawing of election maps put the community center and mosque in another district."
