Romney Endorses Ultraconservative Lawmaker

Mitt Romney endorsed Rep. Steve King (R-IA) -- a conservative firebrand known for taking controversial positions on a variety of issues -- at an Iowa rally today, the Des Moines Register reports.

Said Romney: "I'm looking here at Steve King because this man needs to be your congressman again. I want him as my partner in Washington, D.C."

Think Progress lists five of King's most controversial positions.

The Huffington Post notes the move "drew a quick response from an Obama campaign seeking to paint its opponent as an advocate for antiquated policies."
