Congressional Candidate Tried to Bring Weapon on Plane

Illinois state Sen. Donne Trotter (D), who is running for the seat vacated by former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D), was charged with trying to bring a handgun onto a plane at O'Hare Airport, the Chicago Sun Times reports.

TSA agents found the handgun inside Trotter's carry-on bag during security screening. Trotter told responding officers he forgot the gun was in his bag.
