“Former President Donald Trump said Friday evening his relationship with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy remains good, after a recording emerged of Mr. McCarthy telling other top GOP lawmakers that he would advise Mr. Trump to resign, several days after rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
Said Trump: “He made a call. I heard the call. I didn’t like the call. But almost immediately as you know, because he came here and we took a picture right there—you know, the support was very strong.”
He added: “I think it’s all a big compliment, frankly. They realized they were wrong and supported me.”
