“Two influential House Democrats called on Monday for two officials at the Department of Homeland Security’s independent watchdog to testify to Congress about the agency’s handling of missing Secret Service text messages from the day of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, accusing their office of engaging in a cover-up,” the New York Times reports.
“It was the latest turn in a drama over what became of text messages sent and received by Secret Service agents around the time of the Capitol riot.”
