“Democrats stand on the brink of narrowly recapturing the Senate majority they lost two years ago, with control of the chamber depending on the outcome of a handful of fierce races in battleground states,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
“Republicans remain competitive, despite having to defend many more seats than Democrats and contend with a polarizing GOP presidential nominee. But nonpartisan political analysts predicted that Democrats would likely eke out a slender victory in the marathon, expensive contest in which decisions in the closest races could stretch into Wednesday morning or beyond.”
