Surgeon General Jerome Adams appeared on Fox & Friends and told viewers “the whole administration is now supportive of masks” despite previous guidance against wearing masks and President Trump not instituting a national mask mandate.
He added: “We are not trying to take away your freedoms when we say wear a face covering.”
