Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) will back former Ohio Republican Party chairwoman Jane Timken (R) as his chosen successor in an attempt to boost her through a crowded GOP field later this year, The Hill reports.
A recent Trafalgar Group (R) survey found Josh Mandel (R) leading the GOP primary field with 21%, followed by Mike Gibbons (R) at 16 percent, J.D. Vance (R) at 14%, Matt Dolan (R) at 10% and Timken at 10%.
