An official, on behalf of Boston’s mayor, mistakenly sent all city councilors an email inviting them to a holiday party that was meant exclusively for “electeds of color,” prompting an apology and mixed reactions, the Boston Herald reports.
The body includes seven white councilors and six of color.

Goddard earned degrees from Vassar College and Harvard University. He lives in New York with his wife and three sons.
