“President Joe Biden gave a much-anticipated preview Monday of his final plan to bring student debt forgiveness to millions of Americans,” USA Today reports.
“More than 4 million student loan borrowers — many of whom have been paying their bills down for at least 20 years — could see their debt fully canceled under the proposal, according to the White House. In addition, over 10 million borrowers could get relief of $5,000 or more.”
New York Times: “If Mr. Biden succeeds in putting the new plan into effect before the November election, it may help rally support among voters who were intensely disappointed that the president failed in his first plan, which would have eliminated up to $20,000 in debt for tens of millions of borrowers.”
