President Trump blasted Jimmy Carter as the “forgotten president,” one day after Carter questioned the legitimacy of Trump’s election, saying the president likely won because of Russian interference, Politico reports.
Said Trump: “He’s a nice man. He was a terrible president. He’s been trashed within his own party. He’s been trashed.”
He added: “Everybody now understands that I won not because of Russia, not because of anyone but myself. I went out and campaigned better, smarter, harder than Hillary Clinton.”
