Voters Aren’t Buying Trump’s Economy
Politico: “Trump this week insisted Americans are experiencing the ‘best economy we’ve ever had.’ Privately, White House officials acknowledge people just aren’t feeling it…”
“Trumpeting positive economic statistics in the face of sagging sentiment is a political trap that has ensnared many administrations… Republicans could face a similar problem as they head into what is expected to be a difficult fight for control of the House.”
Israel Used Ballistic Missiles to Carry Out Its Qatar Attack
“As Israeli war planners plotted a secret strike on Hamas political leaders in Qatar, they chose a plan that enabled them to attack quickly and limited the opportunity for the U.S. to object,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

Democrats Name Their Price for Avoiding Shutdown
“The next federal-funding deadline is just weeks away. Democrats say restoring billions of dollars in health-insurance subsidies for Americans is the minimum price of their vote, holding the threat of a shutdown over Republicans’ heads,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
“Democrats are more confident in their negotiating stance compared with March, when a similar attempt to play hardball fizzled. While today’s talks pit them against Republican leaders who want a two-month spending deal with no big additions, they are finding support among rank-and-file GOP lawmakers fearing political backlash if their voters are hit by higher health-insurance bills next year.”
Brazil Keeps Telling Trump to Get Lost
“President Trump made his demands to Brazil very clear: Drop the charges against former President Jair Bolsonaro of attempting a coup,” the New York Times reports.
“To show he was serious, he hit Brazil with punishing tariffs, launched a trade investigation and imposed some of the most severe sanctions at his disposal against the Supreme Court justice overseeing the case.”
“Brazil responded on Thursday by convicting Mr. Bolsonaro anyway, sentencing him to more than 27 years in prison for overseeing a failed plot to stay in power after losing the 2022 elections.”
“Defiance has defined Brazil’s response to Mr. Trump since he began trying to bully the country. So far, it hasn’t resulted in disaster.”
Israeli Intelligence Agency Balked at Netanyahu’s Strike
“When Israel announced Tuesday that it had launched a strike on senior Hamas leaders in Qatar, one security agency was notably missing from the official statements: the Mossad,” the Washington Post reports.
“That’s because Israel’s external intelligence agency had declined to carry out a plan it had drawn up in recent weeks to use agents on the ground to assassinate Hamas leaders.”

Nick Fuentes Tells His ‘Groyper Army’ to Stand Down
Far-right conspiracy theorist Nick Fuentes told his followers, known as “groypers,” that if they turn to violence in the wake of the killing of Charlie Kirk, he will “disavow” and “disown’ them, Mediaite reports.
Said Fuentes: “This is a very delicate situation. This is a very delicate situation. I fear that this has set off a chain reaction. I pray to God there is no further violence. I pray to God that nobody else is hurt as a result of this. I hope that it stops here. It should stop here. To all of my followers: if you take up arms, I disavow you. I disown you in the strongest possible terms.”
“Fuentes and his so-called ‘groyper army’ have long been critics of Kirk, infiltrating his events in the past to troll the speakers and try and turn the crowd toward a more extreme, white nationalist version of conservatism.”
Document Contradicts Trump’s Claim About Fed Governor
“A loan estimate for an Atlanta home purchased by Lisa Cook, the Federal Reserve governor accused of mortgage fraud by the Trump administration, shows that Cook had declared the property as a “vacation home,’” Reuters reports.
“The document appears to counter other documentation that Cook’s critics have cited in support of their claims that she committed mortgage fraud by reporting two different homes as her primary residence.”
Suspect’s Grandmother Says Family Is All MAGA
“The 22-year-old university student accused of assassinating MAGA firebrand Charlie Kirk grew up in a staunchly Republican, Trump-backing family,” the Daily Mail reports.
“Tyler Robinson’s grandmother Debbie Robinson, 69, said she is stunned by the charges against her grandson, describing him as a quiet, reserved young man who ‘never’ spoke about politics, despite his father’s staunch Trump support.”
Said Robinson: “My son, his dad, is a Republican for Trump… Most of my family members are Republican. I don’t know any single one who’s a Democrat. I’m just so confused.”
Right-Wing Activists Go After Those Celebrating Kirk Killing
