Bloomberg: “Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is on track to narrowly lose a national referendum to overhaul Italy’s judicial system, which has become a vote on the leader herself.”

“About 54.4% of Italians voted ‘No,’ rejecting Meloni’s reform, according the Italian interior ministry, with 20% of the ballots counted. About 45.6% voted ‘Yes.'”

President Trump claimed once again that the U.S. is speaking with a “top person” in Iran who is not the Supreme Leader, Bloomberg reports.

He said Iran wants “very much to make a deal,” adding the U.S. and Iran will likely speak soon by phone.

He would not identify the person: “I do not want them killed.”

Trump told CNBC that “we are very intent on making a deal with Iran.”

CBS News: “The Supreme Court is considering Monday a major elections dispute involving whether federal law bars states from counting mail ballots that are postmarked by, but received after Election Day.”

“The case before the high court involves Mississippi’s deadline for late-arriving mail ballots and whether its law, as well as similar measures from 13 other states, conflicts with federal statutes that set Election Day as the Tuesday after the first Monday in November in certain years.”

“Arguments are taking place as President Trump pushes to end mail voting, with some exceptions, and a decision in the case from the Supreme Court is expected to come months before the November midterm elections.”
