Barbara Bush Refuses Additional Medical Care

NBC News: “Former First Lady Barbara Bush will not seek additional medical treatment after a series of recent hospitalizations… In a statement, the spokesman said Bush, 92, would instead focus on ‘comfort care’ after consulting with doctors and family members.”

“It wasn’t immediately clear what Bush, the wife of former President George H.W. Bush and mother of former President George W. Bush, had been hospitalized for.”

Jeb Bush said that his mother, former first lady Barbara Bush, is “not as great as everybody thinks she is,” Politico reports.

Said Bush: “I jokingly say that when we were growing up in Midland, in Houston, that mom was fortunate not to have a child-abuse hotline available.”

He explained that that “the discipline of learning right and wrong was her doing.”

Neil Bush told Bloomberg that he thinks his mother has “come around” on the idea of brother Jeb Bush running for president in 2016.
