Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is expected to endorse and campaign for Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), the first time that the critic of former President Donald Trump who lost her GOP primary has crossed party lines to formally support a Democrat, the AP reports.

A new WPA Intelligence poll in Wyoming shows Harriet Hageman (R) beating Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) by 28 points among likely primary voters, 59% to 31%.

“Those results are based on a model in which 13% of the primary’s voters are Democrats (Wyoming allows party-switchers to vote in primaries). The poll tested two other scenarios, where Democrats are 20% or 25% of the electorate, and Hageman still leads Cheney by 18 percentage points and 12 points, respectively.”

Casper Star Tribune: “The Democratic exodus is unprecedented in recent Wyoming history, even if it appears unlikely to alter the final result.”

Harriet Hageman (R), who is challenging Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) in a Republican primary, told the New York Times she didn’t know who the legitimate winner of the 2020 election was (“I don’t know the answer”) and couldn’t say if former Vice President Mike Pence had the authority to block congressional certification of President Biden’s election (“I’m not an elections attorney”).

Said Hageman: “I wasn’t there on Jan. 6. I can’t tell you everything Pence did or didn’t do. What you need to understand is that, for most people out in the real world, none of us really care that much about what happened on Jan. 6.”

“Rep. Liz Cheney’s House reelection campaign enjoyed its second-biggest fundraising quarter ever this summer… The donations came on the heels of Cheney’s all-time fundraising record, which occurred one quarter earlier,” the Casper Star Tribune reports.

“Cheney’s campaign raised just over $1.7 million during the third quarter, which runs from July to September.”

“Harriet Hageman, who earned the endorsement of former President Donald Trump in her 2022 bid to challenge Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, once called her current opponent a ‘proven, courageous, constitutional conservative,’” CNN reports

“In a speech endorsing Cheney’s 2016 congressional campaign Hageman attacked the ‘concerted efforts to force true conservatives to sit down and shut up,’ adding those efforts ‘have never worked on me and I know that they will not work on and have no effect on Liz Cheney.’”

Former President Trump’s endorsement of Harriet Hageman (R) to take out Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has pushed out a third candidate in under a week, further clearing what was a crowded field, The Hill reports.

Despite Donald Trump’s claim that Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) was also endorsing Harriet Hageman (R) in the GOP primary against Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), Lummis’s comment to the Washington Examiner indicated otherwise:

“I’ll tell you, I’ve known Harriet Hageman for decades. She is a fabulous choice for President Trump — and I’m just leaving it at that. Take my statement at face value. That’s all I’m saying.”
