In a presentation to donors, Sen. Marco’s Rubio apparently thinks he can win the nomination as long as he stays in the race to a contested convention, Politico reports.
“Several sources familiar with the meeting described it as an exercise in lowering expectations for how well Rubio needs to do in order to stay in the race for the White House.”
Said one Rubio backer: “It was a presentation that defied reality. They said their convention strategy was not contingent on winning any states… Even if you go to the [second ballot] why would anyone say Marco Rubio is the guy to give it to?”
