Attorney General Jeff Sessions has issued a statement defending himself from President Trump’s criticism this morning, saying the Justice Department “will not be improperly influenced by political considerations,” the Washington Post reports.
He added: “I demand the highest standards, and where they are not met, I take action.”

Goddard earned degrees from Vassar College and Harvard University. He lives in New York with his wife and three sons.
