Grimm Says He’s Lucky

Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY), “who is facing a 20-count federal indictment on wire fraud, tax evasion and a slew of other charges, says he’s actually a lucky guy,” the New York Observer reports.

Said Grimm: “The support has been overwhelming. In all sincerity, I am one of the most-strange, it might sound bizarre-but I really am one of the luckiest members of Congress. And I say that I because I have salt-of-the-earth people in my district. Staten Island and southwest Brooklyn are just goodhearted, hardworking, regular, everyday people.”

He added: “I’m holding up well. Obviously it’s a horrific thing. I wouldn’t wish it on my enemies. But I’m doing rather well.”
