“Disputing criticism that they had silenced Montana’s only transgender lawmaker, Republican leaders abruptly canceled a session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, a day after heated protests led to arrests in the House chamber,” the New York Times reports.
The Billings Gazette reports GOP leaders will bring a motion Wednesday to impose a disciplinary action against Rep. Zooey Zephyr (D), the first transgender legislator elected to the chamber.
It’s unclear specifically what Republicans plan to pursue.
