House Republicans are holding a closed-door meeting at 11 a.m. ET to discuss a path forward on choosing a Speaker.
When Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was asked by reporters if he thinks it might be worth empowering Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) for a temporary period, Jordan said: “Were looking to bring the conference together we’re gonna talk about all kinds of options, I think, at the conference.”
Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) told CNN his party has not yet taken a position on the resolution to empower McHenry, adding their first goal is to end Jordan’s speakership bid.
No vote is currently scheduled.
