“Hard-right Republicans are livid and baffled that the House leadership did not seem to know if they had the votes on impeaching Mayorkas,” the New York Times reports.
Said Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC): “I would have thought that they would know that. It isn’t that hard.”
He added: “The conservative base is going to have a real problem with this. And they should. The conservative base does not deserve this.”
