The House of Representatives is voting for Speaker now.
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) tweeted: “This will go to multiple rounds.”
Burchett could have assured that by voting against Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) in the first round but he actually voted for Johnson.
Several Republican members have not responded when called initially.
At least three Republicans — Thomas Massie, Ralph Norman and Keith Self — voted for members other than Johnson. That means unless any votes change, the House will need another ballot to choose a speaker.
