Punchbowl News: “Let’s start with Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI), the outspoken progressive from Madison. He’s known on Capitol Hill as perhaps the top antagonist to Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI). Pocan took his show on the road last night, hosting an event in Van Orden’s district.”

“Pocan posted pictures of a 300-person rally in Viroqua, Wis., where the Democrat had an empty chair for Van Orden and slammed Republicans for entertaining cuts to social safety net programs.”

“Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) has also pledged to hold town halls in the districts held by GOP Reps. Vince Fong (CA) and David Valadao (CA).”

“There’s mass public anger nationwide at GOP plans to overhaul the federal government. The vitriol level is so high that NRCC Chair Richard Hudson instructed his members to avoid scheduling in-person town halls over recess, instead recommending virtual opportunities to hear constituent feedback.”

Goddard spent more than a decade as managing director and chief operating officer of a prominent investment firm in New York City. Previously, he was a policy adviser to a U.S. Senator and Governor.

Goddard is also co-author of You Won - Now What? (Scribner, 1998), a political management book hailed by prominent journalists and politicians from both parties. In addition, Goddard's essays on politics and public policy have appeared in dozens of newspapers across the country.

Goddard earned degrees from Vassar College and Harvard University. He lives in New York with his wife and three sons.
