Politico: “More than a dozen high ranking officials across the administration have been forced to leave their jobs or had their nominations or promotions derailed in the first six months of Trump’s return to Washington. Nearly all of the ousters have come after individuals were targeted by outside allies who convinced the president that they weren’t sufficiently loyal. And in many of those cases, the axe came down after officials found themselves in the crosshairs of right-wing activist Laura Loomer.”

Said Loomer: “I’m happy to take people’s tips about disloyal appointees, disloyal staffers and Biden holdovers. And I guess you could say that my tip line has come to serve as a form of therapy for Trump administration officials who want to expose their colleagues who should not be in the positions that they’re in.”

“Loomer has emerged as a blunt enforcer of allegiance to Trump.”

“President Trump’s super PAC is sitting on about $200 million that it can spend against his rivals, giving a term-limited president a never-before-seen amount of power in his party’s finances and future,” the New York Times reports.

“There is no precedent for politicians so aggressively raising money for their own entities when they do not have a campaign to use it for.”

“The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in July removed references to President Donald Trump’s two impeachments from an exhibit display,” the Washington Post reports.

“A person familiar with the exhibit plans, who was not authorized to discuss them publicly, said the change came about as part of a content review that the Smithsonian agreed to undertake following pressure from the White House to remove an art museum director.”

“President Donald Trump, a longtime developer, is overseeing the construction of a $200 million, 90,000-square-foot ballroom that will remake the East Wing of the White House, effecting one of the biggest changes to ‘the People’s House’ in a century,” the Washington Post reports.

“The White House State Ballroom will seat 650 people, more than triple the capacity of the East Room, which is currently the largest room at the White House. Construction is set to begin in September and be done ‘long before’ the end of Trump’s second term.”

Wall Street Journal: “Trump has complained that the White House doesn’t have a large enough room to host large state dinners indoors.”
