Rumsfeld Backs Trump for President

Donald Rumsfeld told the Daily Mail that he will support Donald Trump with his vote in November.

It’s ‘not a close call,’ he said in a 25-minute phone interview.

He added: “I’m a Republican, and there’s not any doubt in my mind how I’ll vote… I don’t believe Hillary Clinton is qualified to be President of the United States.”

Elder Bush Lashes Out at Cheney and Rumsfeld

“After years of holding back, former President George Bush has finally broken his public silence about some of the key figures in his son’s administration, issuing scathing critiques of Vice President Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld,” the New York Times reports.

In interviews with his biographer, Bush said that Cheney had built “his own empire” and asserted too much “hard-line” influence within George W. Bush’s White House in pushing for the use of force around the world. Rumsfeld, the elder Bush said, was an “arrogant fellow” who could not see how others thought and “served the president badly.”

Rumsfeld Says Bush Was Wrong on Iraq

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld told the Times of London “that efforts to oust Saddam Hussein and replace his tyrannical regime with democracy were unworkable, and that he had concerns about the plan from the beginning.”

Said Rumsfeld: “I’m not one who thinks that our particular template of democracy is appropriate for other countries at every moment of their histories. The idea that we could fashion a democracy in Iraq seemed to me unrealistic. I was concerned about it when I first heard those words.”
