September 17, 2019 at 2:04 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“Corey Lewandowski jumped to President Trump’s defense on Tuesday during his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, blasting ‘Trump haters’ and making it clear he will not answer questions the White House wants him to avoid,” The Hill reports.

“The committee hearing quickly descended into chaos as Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) sought to question Lewandowski… Things quickly went downhill from there as GOP members pushed for an adjournment of the panel.”

September 16, 2019 at 9:19 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

House Judiciary Chair Jerry Nadler (D-NY) seemed to waffle on whether to move full-speed ahead on impeachment, telling the New York Daily News: “If you’re going to impeach the president, you want more than Democrats and progressives to understand what you’re doing.”

He added: “You have to have enough public support so that you’re not tearing the country apart, so that you don’t have half the country saying for the next 30 years, ‘We won the election — you stole it from us.’”

July 26, 2019 at 9:40 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) said that he is going to court Friday and again next week in bids to enforce subpoenas seeking grand jury information associated with the special counsel investigation and testimony from former White House counsel Donald McGahn,” the Washington Post reports.

“Nadler said favorable court orders on those matters would ‘open the floodgates’ for enforcement of other subpoenas that he considers key to ongoing investigations of President Trump that have been stymied by White House’s refusal to cooperate.”

Nadler Says There Is Justification to Impeach Trump

June 1, 2019 at 11:10 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler said that there ‘certainly is’ justification for launching impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, but cautioned that the public first must agree that it’s warranted,” Politico reports.

Said Nadler: “Impeachment is a political act, and you cannot impeach a president if the American people will not support it.”

He added: “The American people right now do not support it because they do not know the story. They don’t know the facts. We have to get the facts out. We have to hold a series of hearings, we have to hold the investigations.”

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) told CNN that if President Trump is found to have violated campaign finance laws with hush payments to women then it “might very well be an impeachable offense.”
