“House Democrats signaled that they would unveil articles of impeachment against President Trump on Tuesday, charging him with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, after labeling his conduct a ‘clear and present danger’ to the 2020 election and national security,” the New York Times reports.
“The House Judiciary Committee was expected to work through the night readying the charges, and Democratic leaders planned a news conference for Tuesday morning to publicly outline them. While multiple senior officials and lawmakers cautioned that their plans were not yet finalized, several indicated that they had narrowed their focus to charges that Mr. Trump violated his oath of office by putting his personal political interests over the national interest, then stonewalled Congress’s attempts to investigate.”
Washington Post: “Under the current plan, the Judiciary Committee would vote on the articles Thursday… setting up a floor vote next week.”
