Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is facing scrutiny and criticism from Republicans based on a flawed translation of a speech she made at a gathering to commemorate recent elections in Somalia, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Republicans led by Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) have criticized an alleged translation of a speech to a room full of Somali supporters calling it “anti-American.”
But they’re working off a translation that isn’t accurate.
