Note to Readers

Nothing can keep me from Political Wire — or so I thought.

I had emergency hernia surgery on Wednesday, but there were complications. I aspirated during the procedure and stomach acid burned my lungs, so I needed breathing tubes and was kept sedated for two days

It’s been quite an ordeal, to say the least.

I’ll be in the hospital for a few more days so expect things to be slower than usual.

That said, I’m enormously grateful to Chris Riback for stepping in — a decision I was unable to make — but my family knew there is no one whose news judgment I value more. He’s also a truly great friend.
